Drip Irrigation Emitters and Components

Collection: Drip Irrigation components tested in South Africa

What is drip irrigation

Drip irrigation is a type of micro-irrigation system that allows water to drip slowly to the roots of plants, either from above the soil surface or buried below the surface. Drip irrigation has the potential to save water and nutrients by delivering precise amounts of water directly to plant roots for maximum plant health and performance.

Adjustable drippers

Adjustable drippers allow the user to manually adjust the flow rate of water through the dripper. This is done by turning a small screw or knob on the dripper to increase or decrease the size of the opening through which the water flows. Adjustable drippers are useful in situations where different plants have different water requirements, as the flow rate can be easily adjusted to accommodate each plant's needs.

Pressure compensating drippers

Pressure compensating drippers maintain a consistent, rated flow rate regardless of changes in water pressure. This means that if the water pressure in the irrigation system changes, the flow rate through the dripper will remain the same. Pressure compensating drippers are useful in situations where the water pressure in the system is not consistent or where the drippers are located on a slope, where water pressure may vary at different points along the line.
